The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports a 62-year-old Johnson City deer hunter was fatally wounded on the opening day of the archery-only season. Roy C. Emert was found dead near his parked truck and it appears a 9 mm pistol he was carrying fell out of his pocket and struck the ground. The pistol discharged and stuck the victim in the heart.
